Tuberculosis Testing

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but TB bacteria can attack any part of the body such as the kidneys, spine, and brain. If not treated properly, TB disease can be fatal. TB disease was once the leading cause of death in the United States.

Moniteau County Health Center provides TB skin testing daily, except for Thursdays and/or holidays. No appointment is necessary. The test must be read 48-72 hours following placement; if not read within the time frame, it may be necessary to repeat the test.
