Well Women’s services include pregnancy testing as well as counseling related to pre-conceptual issues, birth control measures including abstinence, and pregnancy. Common methods of birth control prescribed for our clients are “the pill”, Nuva Ring, and “Depo Provera” shots. Condoms are also available as an alternative to contraceptive drugs.
Clients requesting birth control medications receive a full physical examination by an experienced, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, along with the assistance of Registered nurses, including a pelvic exam, pap Smear, pregnancy test, if indicated, and a clinical breast exam during their initial visit to the health center.
